Tạm Biệt Bà Ngoại & Nam

Today we said goodbye to Bà Ngoại & Nam, they had been with us for a month. Bà Ngoại helped Mom after Ut went back home to make the food Mom likes so I would get big and strong, she also helped feed me and let me watch Vietnamese TV on Youtube with her.

Nam was fun to have he always helped by running around getting things for me. Most of the time when he wasn't eating or swimming he was in front of the computer or on his tablet playing games. We all got used to looking at his back and listening to the weird noises coming from the games

Mom, Dad and Me went to drop them off at the airport and say goodbye.

Next year we will see them again when we go to Vietnam and visit Moms home town Bac Lieu during Lunar New Year.

Goodbye ông ngoại (granddad) it was great having you around and I will miss you, I will keep in touch on Skype and see you next year when I visit the family in Vietnam.

End of Sava-Mahino

It is the end of my one and a quarter month known as sava-mahino to my guarati family. In a similar way to Lễ đầy tháng it is now safe for Mom and Me to leave home and be presented to friends and family.

It is custom to go to the temple on this day to receive a blessing, we are really lucky that the Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple is a less than 5 minutes from our condo and we can see it from our living room window. So all four grandos, Mom, Dad, Nam & Me walked there early this morning

At the temple I was presented to the priests for blessings and then I was given a private prayer of my own. Dad put be down in front of everyone on my own, I was not scared and lay down until Ba and Mom came to get me.

After that everyone did some prayers and looked at the different deities, Ba & Dada got some prasad (blessed food) for us all.

It was an exciting morning and we were all tired when we got home so after lunch we all had a nap.

Pick up bà ngoại (grandmother), ông ngoại (granddad) & cousin Nam from the airport

Today my ngoại (grandparents) from Vietnam came to Singapore to see me and stay with us for a little while.

Dad was at work so Ba, Dada & Mom took me to the airport. Changi airport is very big with lots of people but I was happily asleep until they arrived.

We waited until their airplane landed, first to come out was ông ngoại (granddad)

then Bà ngoại (grandmother) and cousin Nam came out.

Everyone was happy to see each other and Bà ngoại couldn't wait to give me a hug.

Afterwards we went home where I spent some time with my ngoại, I was really happy to see them and I am looking forward to getting to know them more over the next few weeks.
