My new Activity Gym

I am still trying to figure out how to use my arms and legs, over the past two days I seem to have a more control and can move each limb individually. Ba and Dada went to BabiesRUs and brought back a big surprise for me.

It took me a while but I eventually figured out I  could make the elephant, hippo and zebra move by hitting them with my hands. I hope to have a lot more fun with this over the next few weeks

Jing Teng came to visit

It was really nice of Jing Teng and his mother Auntie Minh Tri to come and visit me today, they played with me a lot and I got very tired.

Today Moms friend Susan came to visit with her mother and daughter Susanna (Tiew). This was the first time that I had met a bigger child, Susanna was really friendly and wanted to hold me so Mom helped her.

Ut's Birthday

Happy Birthday Ut (Auntie Van)

The big event of the day was Ut's (auntie Van's) birthday. It has been really nice of Ut to came over from Vietnam to help Mom out for my first couple of weeks, to show their appreciation on her special day Mom & Dad baked her a cake and we all celebrated.

It was a shame that my cousin (Ut's daughter) Bou Chua wasn't here today, I'm looking forward to meeting her whe she visits in June.

One week already!!!!!!

I've been here a week and I've changed so much, I''m bigger, stronger and more aware of my surroundings. Mom likes that I've grown eyelashes not sure why but I'm gad she's happy about that.

Today I went with Mom to see the doctor that delivered me. Over the last 9 months she has been making sure Mom and I were making good progress. Now she is helping Mom recover after giving birth to me.

The rest of the day was spent lazing at home, right now I really like sleeping and it doesn't matter where.

I didn't even get up for the cake that Mom & Dad baked for my One week Birthday.

I hope that their cake decorating skills improve before my one month birthday!!!!!!!!!

Chatti

After a really busy night (a lot of 1 & 3 from my last post) I went back to hospital for my first followup with the doc pediatrician. She said everything is great and I've put on a bit of weight since I left hospital. Mom and Dad were happy about that, I was more interested in my orange top:

Today Ba and Dada prepared for my Chatti (sixth day) ceremony, the sixth day of life is an important day in our culture and the ritual that Ba performed should help me have a great future. 

They also gave me a pair of bracelets as gifts, just like Dada I had some bling on my wrists.

What goes in must comes out

Day 5 and my only job is to grow big and strong and to do this I have to [1] Eat (drink milk), [2] sleep and then [3] dump the waste out the other end.

[1] Moms feeding me as much as she can day and night but I can still be hungry so I'm having some extra milkshakes. It takes me about 30 secs to figure out what's in the bottle is a tasty drink but when I start I can down it really quickly. I hope it is as good for me as it tastes.

[2] Sleeping is easy I just close my eyes and I am dreaming. 

[3] What comes out the other end is unpleasant and unpredictable, I try to give some warning by stretching my arms and legs then giving a big smile before offloading. Mom and Dad are slowly mastering the cleanup process. 

All my in flows and out flows are being recorded by mom using a spreadsheet on Google Drive...not sure if this is what Google intended it to be used for.

Welcomed home for the 1st time

I went home in a taxi with Mom, Dad, Ut & Ba, we were all surprised to see Dada had decorated the front door:

Ba did a blessing and I went home for the first time. Then I had a nap in my new bed with teddy that my cousin Asha sent me from England:

Later Mum & Dad got a couple of hampers, one from Dads work and another from Reshma Foi & Connor Foa.

So far it looks like I will be happy in my new home.

Washed and dressed to go home

Great news!!!!!!!! we are going home today, after the extra day bathing in blue light my bilirubin is normal and I am ready to leave hospital. Ba and Ut came early to help with the big move.

A very nice nurse showed Mom how to get me ready, my first bathing started okay with the wet cotton and face wash but when I was put in the water I got scared but didn't cry very much as I knew I was in safe hands.





I was put in my leaving clothes and said goodbye to the nursery and Staff at Raffles they were brilliant.

milk and more

Guess what I had for breakfast? lunch? and dinner?

MILK!!!!!!!!!!

(also had to have the same stuff for brunch, afternoon tea break, supper, and my midnight snack) 

Not much choice for newborns like me. However, I'm getting much better at drinking it and I think Mom and Dad are happy about that. If I keep drinking I will get stronger and be able to go home very soon.

I'm not sure what's in milk but I get a little tipsy after drinking and then fall asleep, I hope that is normal.

Learning the basics

Mom has worked really hard for me the last 2 days and I was happy to see her out of bed and walking around today. The Doctors and Nurses have been really helpful getting her back on her feet.

Later on Ba, Dada & Ut came to help out and see me again. I think I am starting to recognise them.

Ba wears lots of colours, sings strange songs and wants to take millions of pictures of me:

To help Ba add some different photos to her collection I pulled some faces:

  

Ut thinks I'm her a new IPhone model she's picking me up every 5 mins to check my status, play with me or just stare at my face:

Then Ba & Dada and Mom & Dad got me to take some more photos with them. Not sure why Mom and Dad looked tired and unkempt I'm positive it couldn't have been anything to do with me!!

 

Apart from my social life,. learning is going well I got to grip with sleeping, but I still haven't figured out feeding. I need some extra tuition and probably have to spend a few more days on this subject. Gladly things are coming out the other end okay

So to bed for my another night at Raffles Hospital.
